Yeah! I love “Songs from the Year you were Born Night”! Does it make me feel old? Yes! I looked up the popular songs from the year I was born (1978) and it was a BAD year in music. Nothing against disco and the BeeGees in particular, but it wasn’t a great moment in musical history. Luckily, the Idol contestants are younger than me!
*** Did Seacrest just admit to being a redhead!?!?! I knew I liked that guy!
Danny Gokey — I wasn’t crazy about Danny’s performance of Stand By Me. However, he’s still #2 according to Vegas odds (plus the judges loved it) and he’ll be around for a long time.
Kris Allen — All She Wants to Do is Dance — interesting! Uh oh… maybe I’m “in a mood” tonight, but I was a little bored (so was Simon).
Lil Rounds — Awww… I love the explanation of her name — cute! She had terrible reviews from the judges tonight… uh oh.
Anoop Desai — Born the same exact day as David Cook — fate!
I was worried about True Colors, but I thought Anoop did a beautiful job with it.
Scott MacIntyre — Vegas odds have Scott going home… basically NOW. Not the best tonight.
Allison Ireheta — Oh no!!! I was in JUNIOR HIGH when this song came out… when Allison was being BORN… I was in home ec. Scary. She must be eliminated from the competition for that reason alone. Did she sing? I’m too old to notice.
Matt Giraud — Stevie Wonder is a cool choice! I don’t ever remember hearing anyone do that song on AI before. It was a great performance.
Adam Lambert — My TiVo cut off and I’m REALLY annoyed. I see on Twitter that everyone loved the performance. Standing ovation from Simon. I’m soooo irritated. What song was it!?!?! I wanted to see his baby pics. GRRRRR…
Bottom 3: Scott, Kris, Lil
Going home: Scott

Adam sang “Mad World” by Tears for Fears. It was fantastic. Simon gave him a standing ovation. I am glad I was at home to realize it was running late and still be able to see Adam perform. My DVR cut off too. I am tired of AI running over in time (this time 8 minutes).
You can watch his performance here:

Enjoy!!
Adam did not have a baby pic so much as a Halloween
(I hope) picture of himself as a vampire.. By the way, my 12 yr. old son loved Adam, his singing was great, I just did not know the song.
See you have to learn to recored whatever is after AI so you don’t miss anything, I too learned the hard way..
Ok, my bottom 3 are Lil, Scott and it’s really a toss up between Matt and Kris but I think I will go with Kris.
Going home, yup it had better be Scott, he sucked eggs, but Lil was pretty awful too, but she is a much better singer so I think if it was her the judges would save her. I won’t give the year I was born, but I believe the Beatles were just beginning to get popular..
Adam’s song rocked, I you tubed the video for my parents, because they had never heard of the song. But according to what came up it was also covered by Gary Jules (spelling?) and was very popular across the “pond”
I was also irratated at Paula’s teeth all night, as two of them were pink from her lipstick. You would think for as many people watching, they could of had makeup wipe it off during one of their 10 minute commerical breaks.
I think you’re misunderstanding what betting on the favorite means. Lets say you want to bet on Adam. His current odds are -125, meaning you need to bet $125 to win $100. Sounds bad, but it’s what the odds are at payoff (end of series) that count. If Danny or Kris sing better this week and their odds improve, and Adam has an off-nite and his odds drop to, say +200, your $125 bet is now worth $250 if Adam wins. You also will never win Less then what the line was when you made your bet, so if Adam’s line goes to -200 the final week, you still will collect your $100 if he wins.
If I were betting on this, I would bet on Matt. He’s +800, neither a longshot nor a favorite. The trick is to combine your chances of winning with the best possible payoff. The midrange players do this better then the favorites.
Hope I made that simple enough—-
